Actionable intelligence refers to the concept of taking data and documents and extracting value from them so that they can be used by an organization, rather than just sitting unused and occupying disk space.
Organizations have literally millions of documents spread across dozens or hundreds of different data stores. 80% or more of those documents are "dark data," meaning that the content is unknown. It may be old, a duplicate, or simply not needed any more. Alternatively, it may contain important information about a customer, contract, or other key business process. Actionable intelligence gives you the information you need to take action: either deleting or organizing it, so that the data can be used in the future.
