Business Development Representative

Job Summary

The Business Development Representative will be responsible for managing their existing territory partnering with an outside Field Sales Manager to ensure strong growth. The ideal candidate for this position will have established sales experience and a commitment to delivering the highest level of professional dedication and performance. This position requires an individual who is a highly motivated self-starter and has the ability to be productive with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate business opportunities through targeted prospecting in a fast-paced sales environment
  • Continually meet or exceed standards for qualified lead and pipeline quota; bonuses for exceeding quota
  • Execute the necessary daily activities as set forth by management, including phone calls and emails at high quality to meet your monthly goals while managing inbound requests
  • Ability to develop a ‘Why Us”, Why Now’ proposition for each call
  • Develop strong business relationships with prospects in various roles and levels
  • Leverage all contacts to identify other prospects through referrals
  • Nurture and manage leads, until they are qualified as sales-ready
  • Provide field Account Executives with solid prospect background including roles, needs, and business challenges to ensure high-quality prospect transition into the sales process
  • Identify potential opportunities and transition leads to field sales by proactively setting up sales appointments for further qualification activities
  • Occasional travel into territory for industry trade shows and customer events
  • Practice knowledge of Consultative Selling Approach
  • Maintain records in Sales CRM to document pipeline

Requirements

  • BS or BA degree and/or 3-5 years of prior experience representing high-tech solutions to enterprise buyers
  • Experience conducting business and building relationships via phone & email, with excellent phone, interpersonal, verbal and written capabilities
  • A track record of success in a moderate to high volume calling environment with a HUNTER mentality
  • High comfort level calling into senior line of business executives

Eduation and/or Experience Specifications

  • BS or BA degree and/or 3-5 years of prior experience representing high-tech solutions to enterprise buyers
